Examining the role of Science and Technology reviews in the Biological Weapons Convention

HSP Researchers James Revill and Kai Ilchmann presented project results to the States Parties at the Seventh Review Conference of the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention. After an introduction by Sergiy Komisarenko, the Ukrainian Ambassador and the President of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, the speakers provided a short overview of the project results drawing from the the paper 'Reflections on S&T Reviews'. The speakers drew particular attention to issues related to frequency, process, participation and scope before identifying some issues that States Parties may need to consider in seeking to do something about the process of reviewing S&T under the BWC.
